A worn looking note, delivered by an Owl, sits on Kalgar’s desk. It reads:
“Ah, greetings from the Mooncrag, friends! Xaya here, delighted to be sharing a few words with the Darthvord Clan as a Guest Scribe. Tursan’s valleys—where the ancient Red Woods hum their secrets—have always been my home, and perhaps even a part of me. I’ve earned a few curious titles in my time: the ‘Spirit of the Red Woods’ for one, and perhaps less gracefully, the ‘accidental Mayor of Mooncrag’ (long story).
I’m more at ease guiding young witches on magical adventures and crafting potions of a questionable sort than worrying about titles. Speaking of young witches, I’ve recently taken on a student—Shana, who dances with the Wind itself. And then, of course, there’s Lalithria, our spirited friend with a knack for connecting with…well, things beyond the veil. With my close companions, Fyniette and Ujalay, by my side, it seems we’ve become an odd family bound by mysteries and the strange whisperings of the wilds.
If you’re ever wandering through Tursan and find yourself at the edge of the Red Woods, do come by. The Coven is always open for those curious enough to wander in, where you’ll likely find me with a grin, a stray potion in hand, and a story or two to spare. For those following along here in the Nightleaf Journal, I hope to share our tales, musings, and maybe even a few secrets tucked away in the forest shadows.
